Support
The Resnick High Performance Computing Center provides operational, technical, and research computing support for Caltech researchers using the central HPC infrastructure.
Support ranges from basic onboarding and account assistance to performance optimization, software environments, GPU workflows, large-scale parallel computing, and long-term collaboration on computational research projects.
We aim to make advanced computing resources approachable, reliable, and productive for research groups across the Institute.
Getting Help
The best way to reach us is through the HPC support email or the Caltech Help System
Tip
When submitting a request, include:
your username and associated research group
job IDs, error messages, or command output
relevant submission script locations or software versions
steps needed to reproduce the issue
whether the problem is new or previously failing
The more context we have, the faster we can usually identify the root cause.
Self-service documentation
Many common workflows and operational procedures are documented throughout this site, including:
Consultations
Some issues can be resolved quickly through a support ticket, while others benefit from direct discussion. For larger efforts or more involved computational projects, we are happy to schedule Zoom or in-person meetings to better understand your needs and help identify the best path forward.
